Qwetch x Terre d'Abeilles, a new adventure for 2022

Meet béatrice, a passionate bee-keeper and committed activist.

Why change partner?

For 3 years, we have been supporting Un Toit Pour Les Abeilles by setting up hives all over France. In 2021, we were one of the largest sponsors in the network with 30 hives located from Brittany to Provence, i.e. nearly 1,240,000 sponsored bees. For the year 2022, we have decided to take another path, that of education and awareness. From an early age, a message needs to be hammered home: let's take care of people and the planet by consuming more sensibly and respecting our ecosystem and its biodiversity.

why Terre d'Abeilles?

Land of bees is an NGO, of general interest, founded in 2002. This dynamic and committed association has several objectives:

  • First of all raise awareness and inform the general public of the fragility and importance of pollinating insects for the planet by taking advantage of their educational site La Maison des Abeilles, based in Ingrandes, in the Center-Val de Loire (where conferences, events, exhibitions ) and by intervening in schools with the youngest.
  • The establishment of a educational program with the Rucher-École for young people aged 16 to 25 who have dropped out of school.
  • The defense of a advocacy with French and European government authorities in favor of agroecology and against chemical waste (insecticides).
  • Encourage certain companies in their CSR approach by inviting them to get involved in the preservation of pollinators.

Did you know ? our health depends on that of bees.

More than 4,000 varieties of fruits and vegetables would not exist without pollination. To date, 75% of the world's food production depends on pollinating insects, including our precious bees.

It is in this context that our partnership with Terre d'Abeilles takes on its full meaning: the idea is no longer to multiply hives all over France, but to solve the problem at the source by making young people aware of the dangers of insecticides on biodiversity and by providing solutions to government authorities against these devastating threats.

Buy solidaire to protect the bees.

Qwetch undertakes to donate to the NGO Terre d'Abeilles €2 per Bee bottle sold to finance:

  • Educational projects in schools, emphasizing the importance of protecting biodiversity among young people.
  • Actions in favor of advocacy against chemical waste, and more particularly insecticides which decimate all pollinating fauna.

Let's commit ourselves alongside the association so that it can honor its fight: to respect the living in favor of public health and future generations!

Meet béatrice, a passionate bee-keeper and committed activist.

Hello Béatrice, before talking about your association, could you first introduce yourself in a few words?

A 4th generation professional beekeeper in Berry, I have been a witness and victim of the disaster of pesticides on bees since my youngest age. Refusing to abandon the fate of bees to agrochemicals, I founded the association Terre d'Abeilles to warn about this major health and environmental disaster and to propose concrete solutions to put an end to it.

Can you tell us more about Terre d'Abeilles?

Created in 2002, Terre d'Abeilles is a French association declared to be of general interest, which alerts and acts locally, nationally and in Europe for the sustainable protection of bees and other wild pollinating insects.

What are your main actions?

  • Advocacy with national and European government authorities: Terre d'Abeilles is a source of proposals to put an end to the causes of the decline of pollinating fauna. We collaborate with eminent scientists for the writing of our files in favor of agroecology, respectful of the living and of future generations.
  • Pedagogy for the general public : Raising awareness, we develop educational materials in tune with the times. We organize events and activities on our La Maison des Abeilles site, as well as in schools with our interactive digital hive and other educational tools.
  • Apiary- School : The Apiary-School of Terre d'Abeilles provides training in good beekeeping practices. Specific programs are offered to young people who have dropped out of school. And "bee safaris" are organized for children in the summer season.

What is the meaning of the partnership with Qwetch?

Terre d'Abeilles' vision is “a harmonious coexistence of people and bees”. A partnership with a company that is "at heart to take care of people and the planet" is obvious and a joy. For the respect of living things, our fight against polluting waste such as pesticides and our awareness-raising action for the preservation of pollinating insects are in line with the values of Qwetch. Many thanks to you!
